This is a fishing spider maybe a striped fishing spider or a dark fishing spider.
Yes, a White-banded Fishing Spider, Dolomedes albineus. Their markings resemble pale lichens on tree bark. LilDame, (hint) for quick reference tap the state name to see which species in a genus are most commonly seen. For more complicated genera in North America use Bugguide’s data. They have been gathering data longer. I recognize D. albineus by the white dorsal ring-shaped markings that look like lichens. There is a way to do it from the facial markings, but we usually can’t see them in the photos. Thanks again!
