Hello! This is a Yellow and Black Garden Spider I’ve been looking to find this kind of spider for months unsuccessfully. They are gorgeous and harmless to humans. Lucky you!
I am new to Hawaii and still gaining info as to what is harmless and what I need to be cautious of. This is one of the largest spiders I have ever seen!
Your mainly concern should be black widows and brown widows In Hawaii, however this spiders only attack when they feel threatened. To keep your house spider free spray peppermint oil with vinegar in Windows and corners every other day and seal any crevices you find. But don’t worry spiders are friends they eat ugly Mosquitos and bugs that can really get humans sick with diseases. Enjoy Hawaii!!!
such a beautiful wasp spider(Argiope Bruennichi) their zig zag silk is a rather unique identifier of Argiope types. And completely harmless to us.
This is easier than you all expected it to be. 🙂 This is a Hawaiian Garden Spider, Argiope appensa. Not dangerous to humans.
