I think this might be a Sergiolus montanus. This is the first time I have ever seen this spider. At first I thought it was a beetle.

I agree with you on the Sergiolus part, but I’m actually leaning toward S. iviei. The markings are a little different. BugGuide.net has a page on telling Sergiolus species apart:
