Found after Hurricane Sally blew over Destin Florida on Sept 16.
Hasselt's Spiny Spider female. NOT NATIVE TO United States. Asia usually. Any ideas how it got here? My guess is it rode the wind.

You’ve got the right genus, but this is a different species: Gasteracantha cancriformis. This one is established in the USA.
