This comic features the Wolf Spider (Family Lycosidae) from the first Clarice comic. https://spiderid.com/picture/126290/
Wolf Spiders are solitary wanderers, living their lives in the open. They do not spin webs to trap prey, instead using their enormous eyes to succeed as active hunters.
Important Disclaimer: Female Wolf Spiders carry their egg sacs attached to their spinerrets, not on tiny sticks as I have portrayed. After hatching, the spiderlings ride on the female's back until they are old enough to fend for themselves.

The mother wolf spider stops lugging her heavy egg sac for one moment to wipe her face with a weary pedipalp, and I make my sales pitch. “Hello, Ma’am… … …and then there are our special lightweight models, not as durable perhaps as the Pine and Willow varieties, but very good for long-distance travel. They come in three colors: Fresh Alfalfa, Golden Wheat, and Hay-Splinter.” She strokes her chelicerae pensively, then accepts a free… Read more ยป
