This is Agnes (I think she is female). She is enormous and has been living in one of the high windows in my kitchen for more than one year. She has a large, messy, not-so-sticky many layered web. She is a very successful hunter although I periodically throw flies and crickets at her. She is very shy and is more active at night. She also is a very messy housekeeper. Look at all those cadavers. I think she may be Steatoda Nobiliis. Her body including the head is almost 1 inch.

Steatoda nobilis. Awww, it was nice of you to name her after my grandmother and great grandmother. My parents were going to name me Agnes, but my great grandmother told them that it is a terrible thing to do to a baby girl. 😉 Your photo is a pictorial display of why I recommend letting False Widows live in houses.
