Comments & ID Thoughts

Just a closer photo of the previously posted pic. Thinking maybe a steatoda borealis but not too sure. Does anyone know if they come this far north?

This is not a Steatoda Borealis or a Steatoda of any type. It is also most likely not in Therdiidae family.

I dont know what this is. Is that a red mark on its back?

Might be Broad Faced Sac Spider or similar. Or Clubionidae or Dysderidae family.

I don’t recognize it. Here’s a guess from the photos we have from Canada: https://spiderid.com/spider/antrodiaetidae/hexura/picea/ This photo was a gift to our site from Rick West, one of the top Spider experts in the World. His photos are of specimens he collected and had identified scientifically by an expert taxonomist. If you click on his name (in red) below the lower photo in the link, then the camera icon, you can see the photos he gave us. Tarantulas are his specialty.
