I don’t think its a trapdoor spider, they are large and black. It could be a redback, but I doubt it, since they are usually black with a red stripe, but they could sometimes be more brown. What color was the stripe on the back?
The stripe was redish brown would be the best I could describe it. I got bit by the little guy but it didn’t even leave a mark, no swelling or anything really. I thought I got stung by a bee until I seen the little cridder run down my arm. The picture is great as far as the color of the stripe. Black with a redish brown stripe
One more thing if he was sitting on a quarter he would have room to spare before the edge. The only thing I didn’t see on the trap door pictures was the redish brown stripe like this one.
Ok so I looked up the redback spider, a is was definitely not a redback the reason I thought it might be the trap was the two feelers?? Coming off the head as the trap door pictures show
