Comments & ID Thoughts
I am presently in Henderson kentucky, a city just south of Evansville Indiana. Just judging by naked eye, this friend seems to be just above quarter sized. I’m not exactly sure about what they is, but just googling some aspects leads me to believe they’re a crab spider, but I would love a second opinion.

This is some sort of orb weaving spider. That is the type that builds the classic flat web with spokes. Orb weavers often build their web at night and take it down the following morning. They hide somewhere during the day. See the link with a similar spider on its web. There is a chance it is the same species as your one – Neoscona crucifera – the spotted orb weaver. https://spiderid.com/picture/54808/
