Comments & ID Thoughts
Just saw this guy sitting in the hub of an orb web inside a bush on Brown University campus. The markings on its abdomen almost give it the appearance of being segmented, but it's too small to tell. In this photo it is throwing a bit of a threat posture at me because I rattled its web on accident. Excuse the poor quality - I need to get my hands on a better camera.

Hi, your spider was Araneus diadematus, a cross orbweaver. Yes, in my personal experience of annoying spiders to photograph them, many have raised either their abdomens at me or waved a couple of raised legs at me in universal gestures
