Picture of unidentified spider

Comments & ID Thoughts

This little guy is about the size of an average adult's thumbnail from toe to toe. Mandibles are black or very dark grey, I couldn't see his underside. I live in Rapid City, SD. and have never seen a spider with a skull on his rump in this area. He's currently hanging out on my desk at work (standard office, air conditioned, digital lighting). Could he be a Wolf Spider?

This is a ground spider in the family Gnaphosidae. I think it’s Sergiolus angustus.
