Best uneducated guess: Something in the Dysdera genus?
Found on my living room floor by my ever-vigilant bug-hunting kitty. After photographing it, I set him free outdoors. Is this a species that's apt to bite?

You are correct. This is a woodlouse hunter, Dysdera crocata. Their venom is not medically significant.
