Sorry for bad photo. Was out Blackberry picking in thick bush. this was probably the largest spider of this species i know photo does not so justice. Was about the size of my palm of hand. Anyone know the type of spider?

Hi, the web appears to be that of an orb weaver in family Aranidae. The spider’s colors suggest Neoscona crucifera, a Hentz orbweaver. Totally not a definite ID, just my best educated guess. We’ve had other photos of orbweavers wrapping webs around Rubus (brambles) plants to eat the beetles infesting the plant. These plants have signs of beetle damage. Gotta love that spider!
