Comments & ID Thoughts
Initially thought it was a red back but I believe it's a black widow of some sort?

Please help me narrow down what spider this is!
Im guessing this is a redback, as redbacks live in Australia.
Red backs are just that, red back. This has a different pattern with white markings? I have shared this as I assumed red back but I am not so sure..
Looks like a juvenile redback.
Its genus Latrodectus, not sure of species. Ignore common names for ID purposes,. A single species can have many common names and many species can share a single common name. This has been found in binomial nomenclature (scientific name) too, but it is far less messy. Also, different individual organisms in a species can look very different. We humans are all the same species but we don’t look exactly the same. Someone may be able to narrow down the guess of ID to species level by photo – or not.
Thank you!
