Comments & ID Thoughts

I've had a search and cannot seem to set this ID on any species I know of in the UK. Even looking at lists of the species in this country. I can confidently say it is a good 3-4cm top to bottom in this picture. This rules out the black lace weaver as that doesn't get to half the size as far as I know. It took up residence in my stairwell which is outside but less exposed to the elements as it is closed off so believe this is why it appeared here for shelter. It is possible to get a size comparison accurately as it is resting on a painted brick which is perfectly visible.
