Comments & ID Thoughts
Found this tiny guy crawling up my living room wall. Am convinced he bit me though I'm not sure why. Just for peace of mind I'd love any evidence that he's harmless!

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 This looks like it may be a male Bark Crab Spider (Bassiana sp.), or at least a Crab Spider (Thomisidae) at any rate. Like most spiders they have venom but are not considered to be of medical significance, everyone’s immune system is different though.

Thank you so much for your response! I agree, it does look like that’s what it could be – it has those small balls at the end of its antennae pr whatever which are kind of unique. I captured crabby and let him go in my front yard 🙂 Thanks again!
You’re welcome! The appendages you’re describing are pedipalps, they’re enlarged on male spiders and are used as reproductive organs. That’s why I said it was a male. Some people say they look like boxing gloves. 🙂
They do! Thank you for the info. I like being able to identify things!
