Yellow Sac Spiders are very venomous, but they aren’t aggressive towards humans. Don’t poke, pinch, or squeeze them and they won’t bite you. To them we are basically just weird, moving trees–and why would they attack a tree?
I enjoy your spider philosophical thoughts! This tree has been bitten. They aren’t anything that should involve a doctor visit for most people. There is controversy about their venom. It does necrotize. Not like the really dangerous spiders though. I’ve walked through a park that hadn’t been mowed often enough and the yellow sac spiders brushed against my arms and legs in the grass and brush areas. Twice I saw them actively biting my bare skin while I wasn’t moving. I guess I should have recorded it. Instead, I noted the species and killed them as I swiped them off… Read more »
