Araneus marmoreus, a Marbled Orbweaver. You had the correct genus. The leg band markings are the easiest way to tell the two species apart. A. trifolium has bands alternating in white & another color. A. marmoreus’ legs are red near the body and black and white far from the body. Both species are sometimes called Pumpkin Spiders because they look like Jack o’Lanterns.
Thanks!
