Please assist me to identify this spider and if it is dangerous or not as I have 3 cats and I am worried about their safety

I think you found the answer. Don’t worry about your cats being injured by her. She bites in self-defense and the venom isn’t dangerous to most mammals. Orbweavers aren’t aggressive, but sensitive to pressure against them. The risk of being squished is very real. My own cats have stared at some spiders, but never did anything to them. Spiders probably move too smoothly to be interesting to cats. We rarely hear of cats and spiders hurting each other.
