Comments & ID Thoughts

I found this spider laying on a rock at the entrance of a rabbit burrow on an open plain. I thought the rock was cracked until I looked closer and realised they were legs...and I noticed the red colouring. I did show the picture around to the local inhabitants (lived there all there lives), and they said they had never seen one before, so I was wondering if anyone could identify it.

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 Sorry, currently I’m the only active moderator and the site gets more submissions than I’ve personally been able to get to however anyone is free to comment with suggestions. This is a Harvestman (Opiliones), they’re arachnids but are not spiders (Araneae). The red things are mites/parasites.
