These are wafer-lid trapdoor spiders. The wafer trapdoor spiders, family Cyrtaucheniidae, are a widespread family of spiders that lack the thorn-like spines on tarsi and metatarsi I and II found in true trapdoor spiders. The bite of the Trap-Door Spider is of low risk non toxic to humans. It is a non-aggressive spider usually timid but may stand up and present it’s fangs if harassed. Rarely bites but if so it can be painful.
