Hi, I have additional info now. This spider’s web is “sticky, thick, hard” (as compared to other “average” webs). Thank you again!
Very cool, a fun mystery! If you can get a photo of it from the front showing the arrangement of the eyes, that would help. Spiders have variable numbers of eyes and they are positioned in different places and arrangements on the front of the spider depending on the family, and genus. It’s a weird thing for a animals. If you have extra photos that show different aspects they can be uploaded individually as new posts. Just the way the site was programmed. I think you found it! An Eight-spotted Crab Spider. Spiders can be really weird looking!
