Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 This looks like a male Barn Funnel Weaver, Tegenaria domestica.
So how do you itentify them? Just browsing the web for spider pictures I thought maybe a Striped Fisher Spider, or a grass spider.
~10 years experience IDing from images and individuals I’ve collected myself. Common ones like this I just recognize as it is one I’m personally familiar with. If it’s something I don’t recognize I do a combination of googling and downloading scientific papers and cross checking the world spider catalog for possible species in range. If something is too difficult but it’s interesting and I think there is enough detail for an ID I occasionally seek out an expert’s opinion.
Maybe a Striped Fisher, or a Grass?
