Wolf Spider, Tigrosa Annexa. Found this little fella at work today in defense position in a pool. I scooped him up and had my Grandad take the picture. :-)

Yay! Your first spidey pic! Looks like you have a nice job. I got my Wolf Spider pics from ones that were deliberately in a pool. I got some cool photos of cicadas that I pulled out of a skimmer. I’m a terrible pool party guest. Now it might be tough for you to avoid frequently checking the pool for spiders. 🙂
That’s why I love my job, I see so many spiney backed orbweavers and mabled orchard orb weavers and orchard orbweavers it’s not even funny.
That’s where I got this cute little fella was in the skimmer floating in defense position.
Maybe fighting the flow of the water was too tiring for him. The Wolfs I pulled out were using the floating drop-off marker line where insects were getting compiled. It was during a heat wave and drought in SC. The Wolfs were staying hydrated and getting easy meals delivered while they rested against the float line. They kept jumping back in or clinging to my fingers when I picked them up to move them out of the pool. I was ruining their spider party. Ikr every time I try and get them out, they either jump back in or they wait when i’m gone and go back in.
