I have more pictures, but this is the one I have showing the underside. I'd like to know what this as I have a likely spider bite. And this is likely the culprit. I found it on thr floor of my kitchen behind the trash bin, mid day.

Does anyone know what kind of spider this is? I have pictures from atop also, but seen they need the under portion to identify. This was found in my kitchen, mid day.
Actually the top is more important. It looks like a Crab Spider. It might bite if it got trapped under your clothes and couldn’t get out. The venom isn’t dangerous. It might hurt a bit and itch for days, that would be normal. Because something punctured your skin you should wash and put disinfectant on the wound because bacteria might have got into your skin. Hydrogen Peroxide or rubbing alcohol (isopropyl) will do the job.
I was bitten by this spider, on my foot. I now have a severe infection. Just started antibiotics today. I found out that this is the xysticus funestus. Felt like a million razor blades inside my feet. Worst pain I’d ever felt. And I’ve delivered 2 children. Lol
Wow! Was the medical staff able to rule out a severe venom allergy or is all of the pain from the infection? Do you know what the bacteria species that we all want to avoid is? Hope you’re feeling better!
It was a severe venom allergy. The pain didn’t really begin until 1-2 hours later that evening, after the initial bite. By that night, I was in the ER due to the extreme pain. Like I said, it felt like razor blades. That first night was the most painful of all. Although it’s still painful now, 10 days after the initial bite. Every day has been painful, so it’s hard to tell whether it’s all from the infection now, or both. It seems that I’m having a hard time fighting this infection. And the answer to your question is no.??
Thank you for responding. That’s scary that is so painful and is lasting so long! Do you have bad reactions to insect bites and stings? People ask us about these things and it is hard to find answers. Pets have varied venom reactions too. I have a weird genetic-based allergy where I ended up with a large benign tumor on my face from a wasp sting. Now it’s a permanent surgical scar, so I’ve become much more careful around stinging insects. I hope you are able to be monitored for the effectiveness of the antibiotics. Ten days in, it might… Read more »
I’ve had many insect bites throughout my life, and I’ve never had any bad reactions before. Just your typical redness, puffiness, itchiness localized around the bite area. Wow, a permanent surgical scar, from a wasp sting. That’s crazy. I’m sorry to hear that. I’m sure I’ll be watching everywhere I step too, once I can get back on my feet. I’m actually thinking of going back into the doctor because, although the swelling has gone down some, it’s still extremely painful. It’s all so strange to me. I hope it ends soon too!! Thank you.
