The legs were a brighter red live than seen in picture. I searched online and found a picture of the same spider in Peru, but no name is given. Haven't found other pictures online.

This is a very cool find! Thanks for sharing. The south american fauna is so interesting! This is in the family Trachelidae, and belongs to the genus Trachelopachys. I have no idea what the common name would be for this spider. By the way, I read that there are 15 species in this genus throughout So. America.
Thank you for your help! we have many interesting spiders at home, and some larger, like the Lycosa erythrognatha (we we call here Wolf spider), Selenops spp. (witch we call Wall Crab spider) and Steatoda triangulosa, but so far this is the only one we haven´t been able to identify.
That would be a cool one to keep as a pet 🙂
