I just asked one of our expert volunteers, Calum Ewing about it. Dr. Ewing is the Director of the Museum of Natural History, Halifax, Nova Scotia. His research has focused on orders Aranae and Opilones of Arachnida.
I think you may be right that it may be a Steatoda species. I can’t get a good look from the side but does seem to have a flatter abdomen than a Latrodectus.
Have you guys thought of the Red Widow? Location aside, Latrodectus bishopi has that red bodywork and sometimes darker extremities. Hard to say from a ventral. Red hourglass is sometimes missing. Could also be another genus of tangle-web. Curious what Dr.Ewing says.
this thing is getting weirder with each photo! Wow.
You may have found a new Latrodectus or Steatoda species!
I still think it looks more like a false widow .

Possibility…
Latrodectus tredecimguttatus immature female
I couldn’t find any descriptions of the immature spiders of the species. It does look like the closest answer so far.
