Thought it was a black widow but there were no red markings. It does have a couple indents or dots on its black. Very glossy

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 This does look like a Widow, it is most likely Latrodectus hesperus (Western Black Widow). The red would be on the underside of the spider and how much is there can vary if you looked at the underside of the spider and saw no red it still may be a Widow regardless. Thank you. I did finally see the hourglass on the bottom. It was almost maroon in color and difficult to differentiate from the black. Thank you for your time
