This spider dropped down on us while sitting on our front porch. It appears to be some type of crab spider (Thomisidae). I couldn't say what kind, but the red markings on its abdomen make it look similar to Misumenoides formosipes (white-banded crab spider). Its coloration did appear to be slightly lighter under its bottom row of eyes, but I'm not sure if it would be enough to distinguish it as the white-banded crab spider.

I’m not sure if it is Misumenoides formosipes or Misumena vatia. Both species of Crab Spiders have the ability to change colors through internal chemical shifts. I lean toward the former because of the white band and the way the pink markings connect to each other. Misumenoides formosipes is actually one of my favorite spiders because it can match the environment extremely well in colors and patterns.
