First, i’m so excited to see this little beauty…Eresus sandaliatus commonly known as the Lady-Bird Spider- you have found a stunning little male, as only the males have the four distinct black dots. This gem of a spider was considered to be extinct in parts of Europe at one time & I do believe it’s still considered endangered in many areas as they tend to live in colonies & human encroachment has destroyed much of their native habitat-wiping out entire colonies.
