Your date generator is not working. I have tried a dozen times to enter the correct date and it will not accept it. The date the photograph was taken was 19 July, 2019. However, the generator appears to be "stuck" on the year 2020. Thought you should be made aware of this.
In submitted photo you will see a fresh hatch of new spiders surrounding the egg sac. Caught them just in time.
I have an interesting story to relate about a spider envenomation by Steatoda hespera, in 1997. Let me know if you'd be interested.
Thanks,

Fantastic! This is Parasteatoda tepidarorium, in family Theridiidae. With egg sac and hatchlings! The photo is gorgeous, thank you for sharing it with us! The date generator is working for me, I believe you, the site looks and works differently on different browsers and devices and such. I’m using the Safari browser on an iPad. Our Site Moderator sees different things on her iPad than what shows on mine. Our programming is way past due for an update. Thank you for letting us know about the glitch, I’ll forward the info.
Hi all— In the story alluded to yesterday, I found myself the unwilling recipient of a gift from Steatoda hespera, in 1997. The event occurred in Durango, Co., where I lived at the time. I awakened around five AM with a localized burning sensation on my left shoulder blade. Checking the sheets I found a dead spider I was unable to identify which I’d rolled across in my sleep. We recently found one of these ladies under a chair in the yard. She was tending 3 egg sacs and had a fresh brood of about 50- 60 that also must’ve just hatched, but were still hanging about her web, very busy mamas, these. Lovely photo, thank you
