Comments & ID Thoughts
In a private fb group for our town, someone posted saying that these were black widows, but based on the little searching I’ve found, I don’t believe that’s true. I’d like to clarify so the people in the group have the right information. I hope you are able to help me identify this spider. I saw about 5 of these spiders on their webs on the beams of the wooden boardwalk where it was posted the other person saw them. It’s a boardwalk that crosses from one housing neighborhood to the next through a dense amount of trees, scrub oak and saw palmetto.
