I think this might be Araneus bicentenarius, the Giant Lichen Orb-weaver, but I’m not sure. How big was it? Did it look green to you or is it just the lighting?
She was a very beautiful army green with lighter green. She was huge. I went back the next day and brought her down to take some pictures. Very cool. Of course, she went back and I thanked her. I wish I could show those pics you can really see how big she was compared to her climbing my arm

I’m surrounded by Forrest and been in the area 4 years and have never seen one of these. Although, you actually had to be looking. I usually walk the outter edge of the cemetery to catch webs in the light that’s how I found her but her web was empty and I just happened to look up and saw this mass webbed into a curled leaf, but at first I was thinking… Read more »
I would be thrilled to see one in person, especially after seeing your other picture. I have seen lots of pictures, but never with anything for scale. She is enormous!
