Comments & ID Thoughts
This spider was found on my back porch in Anchorage Alaska, it seems to have been injured as there is only three legs on one side. The legs have black bands up them and it seems to prefer dark covered lairs as it ran straight to an upside down skillet when i ferried it to the railing

We just saw one of these closing our garage door in Palmer. I went straight here to figure it out. Looks like a Poison one that I’ve seen in Missouri and TN hope this helps.
Hi there! This looks like an orb-weaver in the genus Araneus. Spiders often lose legs in the course of their lives and can manage very well without one or two. Orb-weavers have very poor vision and often mistake dark objects for shadows they can hide in. They are harmless.
