Almost stepped on this little fella jetting across my bedroom floor! Good thing he is fast because the cat saw him just as I did....

Wow. Could this be Hibana gracilis? Just a wild guess, I’m not experienced in this type of spider.
Well it’s a very good guess and if it isn’t Hibana Gracilis it is a good imitation! I see that they are also called the garden ghost spider. I could not find any reference relative to the origin of that name…..
That’s a very good question, one that I had wondered about as well. Here’s an answer from a short, fun article:
“Ghost spiders, family Anyphaenidae, get their name from their generally pale appearance and the fact that they are (mostly) nocturnal.”
The article:

Well that is interesting but somewhat disappointing as I was hoping for some elaborate explanation on how maybe their spirits returned to their hunting grounds after death to roam about in eternity…….
Tahaha! You can, of course, write the myth of the ghost spider yourself…
True. And maybe somewhere in the story there will be the Old Wise Sage of spider lore…..with the fancy white moustache〰️
Haha! I love it. Maybe you can incorporate your other spiders, too, like a Schizocosa overly-impressed with himself for having fancy-schmancy legs.
Indeed! Running about causing trouble and what not! He definitely has a place in the story.
This is great.
