Out of curiosity, how can you tell it’s a male?
Hi yeah so males tend to have smaller abdomen, relative to the cephalothorax. They also tend to have larger or “boxing-glove” pedipalps, which are the small “mouth fingers”. These organs are used in reproduction. Females also tend to be larger than males.
The only way to be scientifically conclusive is with a microscope, but these physical features are pretty good for sex ID with most spiders. I usually say “probably”male or female, so I don’t sound like a know-it-all, but with some species and photos it’s fairly evident.

-Sure is. Just had my first positive ID of one a couple weeks ago, and now it’s much easier to rule out the look alikes.
