Hi there! I’m actually guessing a juvenile Western Black Widow. Females lose their dorsal markings as they mature.
I didn’t know that. It definitely has the hourglass . I took a couple more pictures but could only post 1 at a time.
I didn’t know either before I joined here. Some of the juveniles have really neat markings. It makes them look like art-glass marbles. Yeah, posting or linking multiple pictures together is a feature we don’t have – for the moment. I don’t know what all the admin staff is working on behind the scenes. At this point, the best way to handle that is to post multiple pictures as separate submissions and just mention in the ID notes that they are the same specimen. It’s cumbersome, but it works.
