Yes, you got it! There are two possible Peucetia species in California, the other, rarer, one is P. longipalps. I don’t know which one of the two this is. He has cool color changing abilities. He looks like he has been on orange and dark green plants lately. The default color for the spider is pale green with paler markings and black leg hairs. I agree with the ID. Spikey little things. Watch for eggs masses in prominent places and the spiderlings.
