Does anyone know what kind of spider this is? It's relatively the size of a female thumb. I have never seen a spider like this is Minnesota. I found it under leaf debreh in my garden.

Hi. Your spider is a female wolf spider, family Lycosidae. Might be Tigrosa species.
They are not dangerous, they will run from you if they can.
Your gal looks gravid, when shemakes her sac, she will carry it for about two weeks then the babies will ride on mamas back another week or two til they molt again.
A good friend for your garden.
