Looks very similar to a huntsman spider but this photo was taken in central Kansas. Spider is about the size of a half-dollar coin.

Thought it might be a wolf spider at first but the markings on its head and back did not match any photos that I could find. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi. This does look like a wolf spider, they come in a lot of flavors, small, big, near black,or straw color. 16 genera and 238 specie in north America.
Often mistaken with fishing spiders, one similar in the bay area of California is the false wolf spider.
Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 This looks like a Wolf Spider (Lycosidae), Hogna baltimoriana.
