Comments & ID Thoughts
Hi. My husband and I just moved into a house that is over 100 years old. We noticed over 20 of these funnel webs dotted on a East facing wall each placed at the top of where two painted wood shingles meet. Have not seen the spiders yet, but the funnel webs do not look old. The house is in a deeply forested area (Redwoods) and it is a few hundred feet from a river. What kind of spider would this be?

Hi, welcome to Spider ID. 🙂 This looks like it was made by a Tube Web Spider (Segestriidae).
