I have no idea what this spider is. I’m worried that it’s a false widow spider, as you can find them in the UK.
I live in the town of Reading, to the west of London.
This is up our main stairs, in the windowsill that sits parallel. i’ve seen this spider before, although it always hid behind our large mirror(below the windowsill) before i could take a pic. This is the best image i got. I have a better, larger pic of the web if that’s necessary, although i’m not sure how to post multiple pics. I would describe the webs to be rather flat, almost like an inverted slope. They are quite thickly webbed. There are multiple of these, and they cover a large area of the lower window sill.
This spider is very cautious, and even hid at the sound of me shouting. (Expressing my initial shock.)
I usually only see it during the night/late evenings. I’d say the legs have a brownish hue, but i’m not sure.
