Comments & ID Thoughts
I've got NO IDEA what this spider is?! Somebody please help. I'm located in New River, Az. Found this dude in the step shower with my two year old!! Luckily he wasn't alive, but these needle fangs is what scares me.. I'm so sorry about the quality of the picture. This little guy was I guess dark brown but looked black to me but that "butt" not sure the word for it was a light color. Please HELP! I NEED to know if this is something I should worry about. I have two babies!

Unfortunately I can’t make out much detail from the picture, but it is decidedly not one of the two most dangerous spiders in the US. It is not a Brown Recluse or a Black Widow, so it is unlikely to cause a very serious problem if someone is bitten, but that is also dependent upon the person.
Do you have any other pictures? Perhaps a top-down dorsal shot of the spider? That might enable us to give you some more concrete information.
I wish I had gotten more pictures of it! Thank you so much. It’s more reassuring to know it is not a Brown Recluse. That’s what I was thinking it was, but I couldn’t be sure because of the images on Google, I could not find a spider that even looked like this.
Hi. this is so maddening not remembering a spider, Note the tibial spur and ‘saddle’ on the metatarsus, I do remember these are keys to this spider,
Not often seen but common in the Sonora region and no,they are not medically significant.
Again reassuring that’s its not medically significant! I am actually right down the road from the sign Sonora desert.
