I originally thought this might be a brown recluse but after looking closer, I don't see the violin pattern and the legs seem to have a couple different shades of brown

You’re right, this spider is nothing to do with a recluse. We’re talking about two different families here: Recluses are Sicariidae, whereas what you’ve got there is a Thomisidae. About the genus, I’m inclined to guess a Ground Crab Spider (Xysticus sp.). All Thomisidae are harmless to humans, anyway, so you can relocate this spider outside without any fear 🙂
