Is this a grass spider or another type spider? The plain color is what is throwing me off.

I think this is a Nursery Web Spider (Pisauridae), possibly Pisaurina mira.

Thank you looking at pics online I believe you are right. It comes out from behind the siding every night by the front door and just hangs out on the siding as soon as it gets dark. t is shy because when I shine a flashlight it ducks behind the siding. Doesn’t seem aggressive and isn’t bothered otherwise by us going in and out of the house. It’s cool to watch and learn their behavior any spider.
