It can climb on the glass of this jar. I found it wedged in a corner high on the wall in my bedroom. The little protrusions at the back of its abdomen make me think "Herpyllus propinquus (Western Parson Spider)" maybe? It doesn't have that white stripe down the middle, though.

I think you’ve got the right family (Gnaphosidae); those spinnerets that look a bit like two exhaust pipes are a give away ;). My guess is Scotophaeus blackwalli, a close relative of Herpyllus sp.
Oh wow, thank you, they do look remarkably similar. There are even photos of Scotophaeus Blackwalli with the slight striping on the abdomen that this guy had.
