I cant figure out the species, but i think its similar to the northern black widow. I found this spider near the woods and it was quick, a little bigger than a thumbnail. It was black with yellow and reddish orange dots on the abdomen. The abdomen wasnt round but not violin shaped eithier. Skinny and pretended to be dead when we poked at it.
