This looks like something that would earn the label “pumpkin spider” to me, which can either mean a marbled orb weaver spider (Araneus marmoreus) or a European garden spider (Araneus diadematus). Both of these species are orb weavers which is a relatively harmless family. I recently handled a spider that looked very similarly to yours who I believe was a similar type. Did you notice her laying very heavy strands of web as she moved? I wouldn’t pay her much mind.
