From everything I’ve read and found, this spider falls under the label of “pumpkin spider”, but that applies to more than one species, though all are orb weavers. I’m pretty sure she is a marbled orb weaver, but other specimens I’ve seen have much less of a solidly colored abdomen, so I’m not sure. Her leg hairs were very prickly just as they look, and she laid a constant string of very, very tough web as she walked.
