Is this trichonephila clavata?
I found it in idukki in a place called meenuliyanpara

Good suggestion, and very close, but I don’t think Trichonephila clavata has been found in India. Looks to be Nephila pilipes, the Golden Orb-web Spider.
Both are found in India. Here’s a link to the World Spider Catalog for Trichonephila clavata. The WSC is this site’s best source for basic geographic ranges outside of North America. It isn’t exhaustive in every place every spider could be found, but it does list every species and subspecies with basic ranges. Using it is a bit muddled, find the genus > genus catalog > species > ranges are on the grey horizontal bars. Bugguide is this site’s best source for ranges for North American spider species. Our moderator asked that we use their data instead of our own.
